Empowers at-risk youth and vulnerable community members to break crime cycles through trauma-informed mental health support, creative expression, and safe evening programs.
Moonlight Minds Inc. empowers at-risk youth and vulnerable community members to break cycles of crime through trauma-informed mental health support, creative expression, and safe evening programs. We illuminate pathways to resilience, emotional wellbeing, and positive decision-making by providing accessible counseling, mentorship, and community-based education designed to prevent involvement with the justice system and build safer, more connected neighborhoods.
At Moonlight Minds Inc., we believe that every individual deserves a chance to rise above the challenges that place them at risk of entering the criminal justice system. Founded on the simple idea that guidance can change a life, our organization works to bring clarity, support, and hope to those navigating difficult circumstances.
We specialize in crime prevention through mental health advocacy, youth development, and community engagement. Our programs are designed to meet people where they are—often during the vulnerable hours of the evening—providing safe spaces, compassionate support, and the tools needed to make healthier choices.
Moonlight Minds combines three pillars to prevent crime at its root:
Trauma-informed counseling, emotional regulation training, mindfulness workshops, and crisis intervention.
Guiding youth and adults through life transitions with mentors, academic support, life-skills coaching, and career readiness.
Offering nighttime safe spaces, art and music-based programs, and community-building events that foster belonging and reduce risk factors.
Through these pillars, we aim not only to prevent crime, but to help individuals discover their strengths, develop resilience, and envision brighter futures.
A community where every mind has the support it needs to choose safety, possibility, and hope—and where no one is left navigating the darkness alone.
Our programs are designed for at-risk youth (ages 12-24) and vulnerable adults who could benefit from mental health support, mentorship, and community connection. We serve individuals regardless of background, with a focus on those who may be experiencing challenges that could lead to involvement with the justice system.
Our evening programs (6pm-10pm) address the critical hours when at-risk individuals often face the greatest challenges. We provide safe spaces, trauma-informed counseling, creative workshops, and community meals during these hours. This approach has shown a 65% reduction in risky behaviors among our participants.
We welcome volunteers in several capacities: as mentors, workshop facilitators, administrative support, and event coordinators. All volunteers complete trauma-informed training. Please visit our website or contact us directly to learn about current opportunities and our application process.
Yes, all Moonlight Minds programs and services are provided completely free of charge to participants. We are funded through grants, individual donations, and community partnerships. Our commitment is to remove all financial barriers to accessing mental health support and crime prevention services.
